DESCRIPTION
The Olim in Tech executive board is proud to host its first lightning talk panel event. Our board members have a wide range of experience from across the different verticals of the Israeli high tech ecosystem. Our panelists and board members will reflect on their Aliyah experiences and will share their insights and learnings on how to successfully integrate into the Israel high tech scene.

PANELIST PROFILES
Ari Bornstein (Scaling the Israeli Tech Scene with Open Source) is an avid Machine Learning enthusiast with a passion for history, engaging with new technologies and computational medicine. As an Open Source Engineer at Microsoft's Global Partner Catalyst Team, he collaborates with Israeli Start-Ups, to solve real world problems with game changing technologies that are then documented, open sourced, and shared with the developer community. He has a dual degree in History and Computer Science from Goucher College in Baltimore Maryland he made aliyah in April 2016.
Lauren Glass (Entrepreneurship and Data Science), the technical director of BeSocial Media, Lauren is an entrepreneur and Data Scientist who made aliyah from Seattle after graduating with a BSc in Economics from the University of Washington. She’s worked as a Data Scientist at Zillow, Check Point and for hedge funds. She has also lectured and given workshops on Machine Learning, Data Science, and Bot Development.
Adir Gozlan (Research and Cyber Security) from Paris, Adir works as a Cyber Security specialist in the Threat Research Team of Akamai, the global leader of content delivery networks, where he uses Machine Learning to identify and protect against the latest forms of web-attacks. Adir received a degree in General Engineering from Yeshiva University and a BS+ Masters in Applied Physics from Columbia University.
Ben Lewis (Software Development and Working in an Israeli Start Up) is a full-stack software engineer working in Tel Aviv at Twist Bioscience, a San Francisco-based startup that sells synthetic DNA to partners to empower them to solve some of the world’s biggest problems. Born in London, Ben studied Aerospace Engineering at the University of Manchester prior to moving to Israel. While studying his degree, Ben worked with Genome Compiler prior to their acquisition by Twist Bioscience, acted as CTO for a startup that helps students find jobs and worked as a freelance developer.
Ian Mark (Business) graduated from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business in 2011 and worked for three and half years in New York City as an equities trader before making Aliyah in 2015. Since coming to Israel, Ian has worked in venture capital, volunteered time advising startups, and is now the Head of Data & Growth at SaferVPN. He first started experimenting with coding when he was 10 years old and has been programming in some capacity ever since. Ian is looking forward to starting his own tech company one day.
