We are looking for a talented and strong Director of Business Development and International Trade to serve as a value added team member for a newly established bilateral trade and investment office based in Tel Aviv - This is a senior role that reports to the CEO and Chairman of the Company.
The Director is responsible for overseeing and maintaining relationships at the highest level with business and government executives. The Director is the senior resource in establishing a strong presence in the Israeli market for this state and for helping to encourage and promote strategic business development relationships that result in trade and increased direct foreign investment in the Israeli market and cross border trade. The Director will facilitate and manage details for 3-4 hi-level trade delegations between Israel and this US market (including perhaps a reverse trade delegation) while maintaining contact with relevant leads and managing multi-sector market penetration. Candidates must possess excellent communication and management skills, understanding of digital communications, and up-to-date knowledge of the economic and political landscape and personalities in Israel.
Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Promote Israeli innovation and establish and secure relevant business development relationships Attend sector specific trade shows and represent the trade office to prospects Advance the establishment of bilateral trade relations and oversee management and cultivation of prospects Creative problem solving when problems arise - a quick learner and team player Hands-on management of delegation visits and trip participants, including relationships with US and Israeli political and business leaders Oversee inbound and outbound communications incl. PR and media relations Management of CRM details, including all contact management and weekly lead reports Oversee the execution of various projects with minimal guidance - with the ability to deliver results clearly and effectively
Requirements:
4+ years of work experience - MANDATORY with preference in business development Good organizational skills, attention to detail, multi-disciplinary skills, resourcefulness, creativity and pro-activeness Strong interpersonal and social skills - with native-level spoken and written English; fluent Hebrew (esp. written) Familiarity with the Israeli hitech ecosystem and understanding of market trends Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written Expected presence at Tel Aviv based office (minimal travel abroad - no more than once a quarter). Basic IT skills - understanding of Excel, Word, PPT, Gmail, web-based CRM tool Residence in Israel for at least 3 years with preference for service in the IDF. May require occasional phone calls in evening due to time difference. MBA or law degree - a bonus but not required.
